Are Resource Competence Issues Real?

Yes of course they are. Resources are the critical success factor for almost all organizations out there. For profit, not for profit, basically all. Companies either have routine repetitive work to be fulfilled or temporary efforts are under taken in the form of projects or programs. But common theme are the resources that work on such company initiatives. And what if they are not competent. What if wrong resources are applied with wrong competence in entire organizational project management and operational initiatives? Will that organization really survive for too long? Probably not. This is because each initiative where such anomalies are applied will be inefficiently run and operated. For example, operations will need more resources and will increase costs to complete work. Similarly projects and programs will complete with much higher budgets than planned and they will not even complete on time affecting company's timely goal achievement.

This is why companies and businesses face resource competence issues that start affecting entire company's goals and become too apparent or visible. And these are not the only issues of just wrong competence application, what about lack of competence, scarcity of competence, gaps, overlaps, poor competence management or lack of timely development of resources. Or what if company doesn't even know what competences they need to develop for next 2 - 3 years?

The company that does not think and take resource competences and accurate applications seriously are doomed to fail at smaller or larger extent.
